Museum of the Riverina

Operating out of two sites: The Historic Council Chambers are ideally located next to the Civic Centre, Library, Art Gallery and Theatre. This delightful neo classical building was originally the city's Town Hall and Municipal Offices, and also the seat of local government until 1999. It was built by well known local builder Charles Hardy and converted to a museum in 1999. It serves as both a space for special travelling exhibitions and a meeting venue. Our second site is next to the Botanic Gardens, on top of Willans Hill 3kms from the city centre. This site is earmarked for depicting the people, places and events which have given Wagga Wagga its unique character. The site includes internal exhibitions about the life of our city and a number of outdoor buildings including a chapel, printery, post office, pioneer hut, classroom and sheds of agricultural equipment.

A special feature of this site is the Wagga Wagga Sporting Hall of Fame which includes 65 inductees of some famous sporting men and women from our city.
